Usage
JetMag 120Mesh abrasives are designed for precise surface cleaning and stripping tasks using air blasting (aérogommage) equipment. They are suitable for preparing metal, wood, stone, and concrete surfaces in restoration or industrial maintenance settings.
Advantages
- High abrasive power enables effective removal of coatings and oxidation.
- Fine 120 mesh grading (0.125 mm) ensures uniform results with minimal surface damage.
- Chemically inert garnet composition; free from crystalline silica to reduce health risks.
- Abrasive can be recycled through approximately six usage cycles for efficient material use.
- Slight dust generation may require adequate ventilation during extended operations.
Specifications
- Naturally mined garnet with cubic grain shape, conditioned in a sealed 25 kg sack.
- Mohs hardness of 7.5–8; does not contain free silica and is non-toxic to users.
- Densities: true density at ~4.1 g/cm³; bulk density at ~2.0–2.1 g/cm³; melting point at about 1250°C.
- Mesh size: calibrated to mesh 120/approximate particle size of 0.125 mm; suitable for high-precision cleaning without damaging substrates.
How it works
Fill the abrasive hopper of your air blasting or high-pressure cleaner with JetMag media, adjust the pressure as appropriate (up to ≤6 bar), then direct the blast onto the target surface to achieve controlled cleaning or stripping according to your project’s demands.
