Usage
The Stanley FATMAX Pro Autolock reinforced tape measure is designed for precise and efficient measurement in construction, carpentry, and renovation projects. Ideal for both professionals and DIY users on-site or at home.
Advantages
- Auto-lock mechanism holds the blade securely during measurements for increased control and accuracy.
- Reinforced high-impact ABS case with non-slip rubber improves durability and grip.
- BladeArmor® coating on the first few centimeters minimizes wear at the tip, extending lifespan under intensive use.
- Mylar polyester film covers the blade to provide up to ten times more resistance to abrasion compared to standard lacquered blades.
- Slightly bulkier than basic tapes due to added reinforcement and larger hook system.
Specifications
- Design: Bi-material (ABS plastic/rubber) case; bright yellow blade with large, easy-to-read markings; detachable XL hook system for versatile measuring options.
- Durability: BladeArmor® coating on first section of blade; mylar-coated entire blade surface; withstands repeated site use and abrasion; Class II accuracy with ±0.5 mm error tolerance at 1 meter.[2][7]
- Measurable Performance: Available length commonly up to 8 m/26 ft (other models: e.g. 5 m/16 ft or 25 ft); standout up to approximately 3 m (tested values between roughly 10–14 ft depending on model).[1][7]
- Differentiating Features: Patented auto-lock/reverse lock mechanism allows controlled retraction; wide (32 mm) easy-to-read blade aids solo measurements; versatile multi-catch hook accommodates side-on or end-on measurement.[4][5]
How it works
The user extends the tape measure by pulling out the reinforced steel blade, which automatically locks in place for hands-free reading. The retract button releases the lock smoothly when finished. Detachable hooks improve accuracy across a range of surfaces.[7][4]
