Usage
The UCS rack-and-pinion electric actuator with a 550mm stroke is used for automated opening and closing of large windows, roof lights, louvres, or domes in natural ventilation systems for commercial or residential buildings.
Advantages
- Enables reliable automation of window opening for improved air flow and indoor climate control.
- Dual rack configuration delivers uniform thrust at two points, reducing stress on window frames.
- Supports parallel connection to synchronize multiple actuators for larger openings.
- Available with either 230 Vac or 24 Vdc power supply to fit existing electrical systems.
- Anodized aluminum housing provides corrosion resistance; minor drawback: requires specific mounting space due to stroke length.
Specifications
- Anodized aluminum construction; dual rack system with one motor and two push points via connecting rods.
- Lifespan suited for intensive use; complies with applicable EMC and LVD European directives (230 Vac: EN 73/23 LVD & EN 89/336 EMC as amended).
- Pushing force up to 750 N per actuator; stroke length precisely at 550 mm. Electronic end-of-stroke detection ensures precise positioning at endpoints and intermediate stops.
- Sleek silver finish. Designed specifically for large top-hung/bottom-hung windows, roof domes, or louvres requiring powerful yet controlled actuation. Parallel wiring supported for synchronized operation across several units.
How it works
The actuator uses an electrically powered rack-and-pinion mechanism: when activated by a switch or building management system, the motor drives the racks outward or inward over a distance of up to 550mm. This action opens or closes windows evenly via two thrust points connected by rods, ensuring smooth movement even in large glazing elements.
