Usage
The Upgrade Card Full Energy is used to maximize the operational speed and torque of one Dorma ED 100 drive unit for hinged doors. It enables full-performance automatic door operation, suitable for high-traffic or demanding environments.
Advantages
- Unlocks the full range of opening and closing speeds for the ED 100 operator.
- Allows adjustment of opening and closing torque up to system limits.
- Enables faster door cycles, catering to areas with frequent use or high throughput.
- Supports reliable performance under wind load conditions (up to 150 N at main closing edge).
- The card must remain installed to maintain the enhanced functionality; removal reverts to standard mode.
Specifications
- Design: Plug-in electronic module compatible with Dorma ED 100 swing door systems; color-coded blue for identification.
- Durability: Designed for long-term use within the operator housing; tested over up to one million cycles according to EN standards[5].
- Performance: Increases maximum opening/closing speed up to approximately 50°/second; supports adjustable hold-open time (0–180 seconds); maintains rated force output (150 N at main edge)[5][9].
- Differentiators: Enables transition from “low energy” compliant operation (for accessibility) to “full energy” high-speed automation (requires additional safety sensors as per safety standards)[7][5]. The enhancement is active only while card is present in one ED 100 drive unit at a time.
How it works
The Upgrade Card Full Energy is inserted into the designated slot on a Dorma ED 100 swing door operator. Once fitted, it exchanges configuration data with the control unit, activating extended parameters such as higher speed ranges and torque outputs. These settings optimize automatic or assisted-opening functions according to user requirements, provided that requisite safety measures are implemented.[2][3]
