Description

Usage

Abrasif de décapage Garnet 30-60 Mesh is designed for high-efficiency removal of light to medium coatings and rust using high-pressure cleaners or abrasive blasting equipment in industrial maintenance and construction settings.

Advantages

  • Delivers fast cleaning rates for increased productivity in surface preparation tasks.
  • Lower consumption rate compared to conventional abrasives, reducing material handling and disposal needs.
  • Produces a clean, uniform anchor profile optimal for coating applications.
  • Chemically inert with non-detectable radioactivity and low chloride content, supporting safety and compliance requirements.
  • Slightly higher density requires suitable equipment calibration to avoid over-blasting on soft substrates.

Specifications

  • Composed predominantly of Almandine garnet (>97%) with sub-angular grains sized between approximately 0.25 mm – 0.6 mm (30-60 mesh).
  • Mohs hardness: 7.5–8.0; bulk density: ~2.3 t/m3; specific gravity: ~4.1; melting point: ~1250°C.
Carries certifications including compliance with ISO11126/ISO11127 standards for blasting abrasives.
    Chemical composition typically includes SiO2: ~37%, Al2O3: ~21%, Fe2O3: ~35%.
  • Able to achieve a surface profile between approximately 50–75 μm with blasting rates up to approximately 25 m²/hr and consumption as low as roughly 10–15 kg/m² depending on application parameters.
Packed in sealed bags of 25kg each for secure transport and storage.
  • Differentiating features include low dust generation, non-hygroscopic properties (does not absorb moisture), inert mineral composition, minimal free silica content (<0.1%), conductivity range of about 100–150 μS/cm, and suitability for both single-use or recyclable abrasive systems.

How it works

The Garnet abrasive is loaded into high-pressure cleaning or blasting equipment where it is propelled at surfaces under controlled pressure, efficiently abrading coatings or rust through its hardness and angular particle shape while minimizing dust formation. The process leaves surfaces clean with a uniform texture ready for recoating or inspection.
