Usage
The BKS Janus 4512 double cylinder is designed for securing doors in residential or commercial environments. It supports same key access across multiple cylinders and comes equipped with four reversible keys for convenient entry control.
Advantages
- Double-sided emergency function allows operation even if a key is inserted on the opposite side.
- High resistance to drilling and pulling attacks, enhancing protection against break-ins.
- Certified according to DIN EN 1303 and DIN 18252 standards for quality assurance.
- Modular structure enables various length customizations and easy integration into complex master key systems.
- The reversible dimple keys offer comfortable handling and prevent incorrect insertion; minor drawback: length customization requires careful selection when ordering.[1][3][6][9]
Specifications
- Cylinder body crafted from nickel-plated brass with a multi-row pin tumbler mechanism (up to 20 pins per side).
- Lifespan validated through intensive testing; VdS BZ(+) certified for burglary resistance; compliant with relevant European norms EN 1303, DIN 18252.[6][9]
- Cylinder dimensions: profile type “30/30” mm per side gives an overall length of approximately 60 mm; supplied as standard with four keys per piece.[1][9]
- Differentiating features include double-sided emergency function, advanced anti-drill/pull elements, sturdy modular assembly, and compatibility with master key systems.[1][3][6][9]
How it works
This mechanical cylinder lock operates by inserting one of the reversible dimple keys into either end. The internal pins align to allow smooth turning of the core, actuating the locking mechanism. The double-sided function ensures usability even if a key remains inserted on one side.[3][5]
