Usage
The Bosch GSS 160 Multi Compact Orbital Sander is designed for in-between sanding, surface finishing, and detail work on corners and small flat surfaces. Suitable for wood, veneer, lacquer, filler, as well as mineral and acrylic surfaces.
Advantages
- Compact ergonomic design enables comfortable one-handed use and easy handling in tight spaces.
- Three interchangeable pads (rectangular, delta/triangle, elongated) allow precise sanding on edges, corners, and various surface profiles.
- Bosch Micro Filter System ensures efficient dust extraction for cleaner working conditions.
- Robust metal plate construction extends tool durability; sealed ball bearings further improve lifespan.
- The flexibility of hook-and-loop plus clamp systems simplifies quick paper changes; however, single-speed operation may limit versatility for those needing variable speed control.
Specifications

Complies with standard power tool safety certifications by Bosch Professional line.
- Performance:No-load speed: up to 12,000 rpm. Oscillation rate: up to 24,000 opm. Power input: nominally 180 W. Orbit diameter 1.6 mm.
Weight: approx. 1.2 kg.
Sound pressure level: 76 dB(A). Vibration emission value ah: 5 m/s² (K uncertainty = ±1.5 m/s²).
- Differentiating Features:Bosch Micro Filter System integrated into the dust box enables highly effective dust collection.
Quick-change pad system increases efficiency when moving between different applications or pad shapes.
Hook-and-loop fastening combined with classic clamping mechanism suits most sanding abrasives available on the market.
How it works
The sander operates using an orbital motion that moves the attached abrasive pad in rapid oscillations powered by a single-speed motor. Users attach sandpaper via hook-and-loop or clamp systems depending on the chosen pad shape then guide the compact tool comfortably with one hand across targeted surfaces while dust is actively collected into an integrated microfilter box for cleaner work results.
