Usage
The TOPBAND expanding foam tape is designed for sealing connection and expansion joints in construction, suitable for joint widths from 4 to 9 mm in window frames, precast buildings, masonry, timber, and concrete structures.
Advantages
- Provides effective wind and driving rain resistance up to at least 600 Pa.
- Ensures airtight and watertight sealing while remaining vapor-permeable.
- Difficult to ignite: fire classification B1 according to DIN4102 standards.
- Offers excellent acoustic insulation for improved comfort.
- Resistant to weathering and UV exposure; can be applied in all weather conditions.
Specifications
- Made from soft polyurethane foam impregnated with acrylic dispersion; pre-compressed on a roll with one self-adhesive side.
- Meets BG1 classification (DIN18542) for high-performance seals; fire rated B1 (DIN4102).
- Covers joint widths of 4–9 mm; tape dimensions: width/depth of joint =15 mm x height =30 mm; roll length: 15 m; maximum expansion: approximately 28 ±1 mm.
- Airtight, watertight against heavy rain (≥600 Pa), vapor-open, difficultly flammable, UV-resistant; usable within a temperature range of -30°C to +80°C (peaks up to +100°C).
How it works
The pre-compressed TOPBAND tape expands after installation into the joint gap. Its impregnation creates an elastic seal that adapts closely to surfaces, providing durable protection against air infiltration and water while allowing vapor diffusion.
