Usage
This expansive foam joint tape is designed for sealing connection and expansion joints between building components with a width of 2 to 4 mm. Ideal for use in window installations, prefabricated constructions, masonry, woodwork, and concrete frames.
Advantages
- Airtight and watertight sealing provides protection against wind and driving rain (up to 600 Pa)
- Pre-compressed roll simplifies installation; self-adhesive on one side for secure placement
- Difficult to ignite (fire class B1 according to DIN4102) increases safety in building applications
- Permits vapour diffusion while maintaining insulation properties (BG1 class per DIN18542)
- Resistant to temperature extremes (-30°C to +80°C), UV rays, and all weather conditions
Specifications
- Made of polyurethane soft foam impregnated with acrylic dispersion; black in color; self-adhesive on one side; pre-compressed format allows easy application including retrofitting into existing joints [4][6]
- Difficultly inflammable — Fire classification B1 (DIN4102); BG1 standard per DIN18542 ensures durable performance [4][5][6]
- Suits joint widths from 2–4 mm; tape dimensions: width/depth: 15 mm x height:15 mm; roll length: 24 meters; maintains water resistance up to at least 600 Pa [4][6]
- Airtight and watertight yet vapour-permeable (sd <0.5 m); acoustically insulating for improved comfort [4][5]
How it works
The pre-compressed TOPBAND tape expands after installation within the joint gap, adapting precisely between surfaces. Its adhesive backing holds the strip in place as it gradually fills the space, forming a permanent seal that resists air infiltration, moisture ingress, noise transmission, and accommodates movement between materials.
