Usage
Amsterdam vernis acryl brillant, in a 400 ml aerosol, is designed for the final protection of acrylic paintings. It shields artworks from dust, dirt, and external influences while maintaining color vibrancy and providing a glossy finish.
Advantages
- Forms a durable and flexible protective layer on acrylic and oil paintings
- Glossy finish enhances depth and saturation of colors
- Non-yellowing formula preserves artwork appearance over time
- Reversible: dry varnish can be removed with white spirit if necessary
- Aerosol application enables even coverage without brush marks; product is extremely flammable—use with caution[3][4][9]
Specifications
- Acrylic-based varnish in aerosol form; contains acrylate resins, petroleum spirits, and turpentine essence[4][9]
- Smooths to a flexible film; does not yellow as it ages; meets typical artist material standards for archival protection[3]
- Covers standard painting surfaces evenly when sprayed from approximately 40 cm distance; dries within several hours after application (recommended to apply after paint fully cures: wait at least four to five days)[3][9]
- The dried varnish layer is removable with white spirit for cleaning or restoration purposes; suitable for both acrylic and oil-based works[3]
How it works
Shake the can thoroughly before spraying. Hold the aerosol about 40 cm from the painting surface and apply a single thin coat in a well-ventilated area. Allow several hours to dry fully. The protective gloss film can later be removed using white spirit if desired.[3]
