Usage
These galvanized M6 press-in nuts are designed for secure fastening in sheet metal and similar materials, providing robust, threaded mounting points where tapping threads is impractical. Ideal for assembly, repair, and manufacturing tasks using rivet pliers.
Advantages
- Provides strong M6 threads in thin or soft sheet materials
- Zinc-galvanized finish helps resist corrosion over time
- Permanent installation prevents loosening under vibration
- Suitable for use with manual or hydraulic rivet tools
- Packed as a practical set of 20 pieces for small projects or repairs
Specifications
- M6 thread size; compatible with standard metric bolts and screws
- Zinc-galvanized steel construction enhances strength and corrosion resistance
- Sertir (press-in/rivet) design locks securely in pre-drilled holes of appropriate diameter (typically ~9mm depending on material thickness)
- Total length approximately varies between suppliers but generally around 12–15 mm per nut; check tool compatibility before installation
- Permanently bonds to sheets from ~0.5 mm to several millimeters thick depending on application requirements and tool used
How it works
The nut is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the workpiece. Using rivet pliers or a compatible setting tool, the nut is compressed so that its body expands behind the sheet, forming a reliable mechanical lock and providing an internal M6 thread ready for bolt assembly.
