Usage
Designed for sealing paintable joints in glazing, connection, and expansion applications on facades and walls. Suitable for use on various building materials both indoors and outdoors.
Advantages
- Compatible with most wood paints after full curing for a seamless finish
- Permanently elastic to handle structural movements without cracking
- Excellent adhesion to glass, treated wood, aluminium, ceramics, and more surfaces without the need for primer in most cases
- Resistant to UV rays, ageing, weather conditions as well as high and low temperatures (-50°C to +150°C)
- A primer may be needed on highly absorbent or alkaline substrates such as concrete or brick
Specifications
- Material: Neutral alcoxy-curing polysiloxane (RTV-1), ready-to-use paste consistency in a grey 310 ml cartridge format
- Cures by air humidity; compliant with EN 15651-1 (F EXT-INT 20 LM) & EN 15651-2 (G 20 LM); French VOC Emission Class A+; KOMO certified; contains no VOCs when cured properly
- Curing speed: approx. 2 mm after 24 hours at +23°C/50% RH; application temperature range: +5°C to +40°C; shore A hardness: ~26; density: approx. 1.22 g/ml; elongation at break: up to 150%
- Differentiating features include paintability with compatible wood paints (VOC2010), permanent elasticity (>90% elastic recovery), high resistance against moisture ingress over time even under thermal strain from -50°C up to +150°C.
How it works
The silicone is applied using a sealant gun onto clean, dry joints. After full curing through exposure to ambient humidity—typically forming skin within about 15 minutes—the sealant can be overpainted with suitable wood paints if desired.
