Usage
The Bosch Ø22 235mm auger wood drill bit is designed for precise and efficient drilling in softwood, hardwood, and even damp wood. Ideal for carpenters, roofers, and other professionals handling timber construction or woodworking projects.
Advantages
- Self-centering threaded tip ensures accurate starting without wandering.
- Optimized large-diameter helical flute enables continuous chip removal, reducing clogging even with wet wood.
- Hexagonal shank provides secure grip within standard drill chucks for slip-free operation.
- Engineered to handle a broad range of timber types including both hard and soft woods.
- Straightforward design allows quick changeover and compatibility with most professional power drills; may require a minimum chuck size due to shank diameter.
Specifications
- Hardened steel construction; machined helical flute; hexagonal (6-flat) shank design.
- Shaft geometry supports sustained performance when drilling deep holes in various wood densities; follows industrial manufacturing tolerances typical of Bosch tools.
- Total length: 235 mm; working length: approximately 160 mm; diameter: Ø22 mm; shank diameter: approx. Ø11 mm—suited for drills with matching chuck capacity.
- Differentiating features include an aggressive self-feeding tip and precision-ground cutting edges for smooth hole entry and reduced splintering at the exit point.
How it works
The auger bit is attached to a compatible electric drill. Its self-threading center pulls the bit into the wood as it rotates, while the sharp side cutters create clean holes. The oversized helical flute actively transports chips out of the hole during drilling to maintain speed and prevent jamming.
