Usage
The Bosch formwork drill bit Ø18 is designed for drilling precise holes in wood, particularly for shuttering and formwork in construction environments. Suitable for use with rotary or impact drills on softwood, hardwood, and composite panels.
Advantages
- Clean, accurate drilling results thanks to a centering tip and sharp cutting edges
- Optimized design ensures efficient chip removal during deep drilling operations
- Cylindrical shank compatible with most standard drill chucks for versatility
- Durable construction allows repeated use under tough jobsite conditions
- Straightforward handling reduces the risk of hole drifting or edge tear-out
Specifications
- Robust steel design features a precision-ground spiral flute for smooth chip ejection and minimal friction[3][9]
- Suits all standard corded or cordless drills; cylindrical shank fits common three-jaw chucks[6]
- Drilling diameter: 18 mm; typical working length approximately up to several hundred millimetres (refer to packaging)
- Centring point prevents wandering when starting holes, ideal for both softwood and hardwood applications[6][9]
How it works
This drill bit is inserted into the chuck of a power drill. Its centering tip positions accurately on the wood surface while sharp outer spurs score fibers ahead of drilling. As you operate the tool, chips are efficiently removed through spiral flutes, producing clean holes suitable for bolts or fastener installation.
