The Carat A-2231 is a dual-mode diamond core drill designed for wet and dry drilling in concrete and brick, suitable for both stand-mounted and handheld operation.
Mount the drill on a stand for large-diameter cores up to Ø161mm in concrete with water, or use handheld for smaller diameters. Switch to micro-percussion mode for dry drilling. Connect water or vacuum as needed depending on the drilling method selected.
Can this drill be used without water? Yes. The micro-percussion function allows dry drilling in concrete up to Ø162mm on a stand and Ø122mm handheld, eliminating the need for a water supply.
What is the maximum drilling diameter in brick? When mounted on a stand, the A-2231 can drill up to Ø202mm in brick. Handheld use is limited to Ø132mm.
How many speed settings does the A-2231 offer? The drill features three speed settings: 610 rpm, 1,300 rpm, and 1,910 rpm under load, allowing adaptation to different materials and bit sizes.
What safety features are included? The machine includes an overload protection system, a clutch to prevent torque kickback, and a PRCD circuit breaker that cuts power in the event of a fault.
What spindle connection does the A-2231 use? The drill uses a 5/4 UNC spindle connection, which is a widely used standard for diamond core drill bits and accessories.
