Usage
This fibre disc is designed for use with 125 mm angle grinders, suitable for fine finishing, cleaning, and stripping of metal surfaces. Ideal for applications in metalworking, automotive repairs, and light fabrication.
Advantages
- Delivers consistent sanding results on steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals
- Constructed with vulcanized fibre backing for improved strength and tear resistance
- Suits both manual pneumatic and electric portable grinders up to 12,000 rpm
- Grain size 180 provides a smooth surface finish in preparation for painting or coating
- Requires use with an approved backing pad; unsuitable for plunge-cut grinding operations
Specifications
- Design: Diameter of 125 mm; centre bore of 22.23 mm; grain type aluminium oxide or zirconia depending on manufacturer series; vulcanized fibre backing material ensures durability and flexibility[3][7]
- Durability: High resistance to heat build-up during operation; robust against tears; long service life due to resin-bonded abrasive grains[3][7]
- Performance: Maximum rotational speed up to 12,000 rpm* (verify grinder compatibility); operates at peripheral speeds up to approximately 80 m/s[5][7]
- Differentiators: Suitable for fine sanding passes—grain size P180 is optimized for surface finishing tasks without aggressive material removal. Backing ensures safety when used within specified limits.[3][7]
How it works
The disc mounts onto a compatible grinder using its central bore. When powered at the recommended speed with an appropriate backing pad, the coated abrasive efficiently sands or finishes metals by removing small imperfections or old coatings through controlled wear of the grain.
*Always refer to your grinder’s maximum RPM rating before installation.
