Usage
This 125mm fibre disc with grit 220 is designed for fine sanding and finishing tasks on metals, including steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. Ideal for use with angle grinders in industrial or workshop environments.
Advantages
- Provides a very fine surface finish suitable for preparatory work before polishing or coating.
- Compatible with standard M14-backing pad systems found on most grinders.
- Offers consistent abrasive performance across the entire surface of the disc.
- The flexible vulcanized fiber backing ensures durability and reduces breakage risk under demanding use.
- Abrasion generates limited heat, minimizing the risk of discoloration or warping on sensitive alloys.
Specifications
- Abrasive: Aluminium oxide (corundum) bonded to a vulcanized fiber backing.
- Sustained durability; designed for intensive use in welding shops, metalworking plants, and maintenance applications.
Conforms to industry safety norms for abrasive discs (e.g., EN standards).
- Diameter: Ø125 mm; Grit size: P220 (very fine); Typical thickness: about 0.7–0.8 mm.
Delivers precise removal rates ideal for smoothing welds and blending surfaces without deep scratches.
- The disc’s design allows efficient dust evacuation to support clean operation and prolong disc lifespan compared to conventional sandpaper sheets of similar grain.[3][8]
How it works
The fibre disc is mounted onto an angle grinder using a compatible backing pad. When powered up, applied pressure enables the abrasive grains to efficiently remove material from metal surfaces while maintaining high control over finishing quality.[7][8]
