Usage
The CISA Astral S DUO 40/60 double euro profile cylinder is designed for securing doors in residential, commercial, or industrial settings where enhanced mechanical protection and operational reliability are required.
Advantages
- High resistance to snapping with a patented laminated steel core and dual-material construction[3][5].
- Tested protection against picking, drilling, extraction, and bumping thanks to advanced pin mechanisms and hardened components[3][4].
- The DUO clutch system allows key operation from one side even if a key is inserted on the other side for uninterrupted access[4][9].
- Long service life of up to 100,000 operating cycles; certified per EN1303 with SKG** burglary resistance rating[4].
- No duplicate key protection; keys can be copied without restriction (minor drawback)[4].
Specifications
- Constructed with a brass body and nickel-plated finish; features a reversible flat nickel silver key. The cylinder integrates ten pins (six active, four passive) with hardened steel inserts for anti-drill performance[1][3][5].
- Laminated snap-resistant steel core consisting of six rigid segments plus one flexible stainless segment spans the full length. Complies with EN1303 standards and holds SKG** certification. Fitted BKP patented device to resist bumping attacks[4][5].
- Total length: 100 mm (40 mm external / 60 mm internal). Offers more than 1.6 million unique variations per masterkey system; grand masterkey compatibility possible. Supports up to an organigram capability of up to about 63,000 cylinders per passkey set-up[1][4][5]. Weight approximately ~0.31 kg.
- Main features include DIN standard cam in sintered steel for added push resistance; mushroom driver profile enhances picking resistance; self-lubricating components increase durability. Key operation from both sides even when another key is present due to integrated clutch system (“DUO” function)[1][5]
How it works
The CISA Astral S DUO double cylinder installs into compatible euro profile lockcases on doors. It is operated by turning a uniquely-cut reversible key that aligns ten security pins inside the cylinder—allowing or denying rotation—and secures access from either side even if another key remains inserted from the opposite direction.[1][9]
