Usage
The SAV Pivot mâle E5 is used as a pivot fitting for wooden window sashes and frames, designed for integration into timber profiles in tilt-and-turn or projecting opening systems. Suitable for use in ROTO hardware assemblies.
Advantages
- Compatible with various wood profile systems: 4/15-9, 4/18-9, 12/18-9, and 12/20-9(13), with or without weatherstrip.
- Supports sash weights up to 150 kg, ensuring suitability for heavy-duty windows.
- Pilot drilling of only 5 mm reduces thermal bridging and condensation at bearings and pivots.
- Narrow design minimizes lateral space requirements (lateral clearance: 21 mm).
- The surface can be fully treated before assembly, optimizing workflow during window manufacturing.
Specifications
- Design: Narrow male pivot system specifically adapted to fit E5 series ROTO hardware; right-opening configuration.
- Materials: Designed for wood sashes; suitable integration into ROTO modular systems also used on PVC/aluminium via accessory compatibility.
- Sash Weight Capacity: Up to max.150 kg; allows sash opening angles up to a full 180°.
- Bore Depth Requirement: Only 5 mm on the frame upright (dormant post), reducing impact on the structure's insulation properties.
Lateral installation clearance of 21 mm enables narrow-profile use.
No bottom (0 mm) or top clearance required—installation flexibility.
No direct thermal bridge between bearing/pivot base and external weather protection due to limited bore depth limitation.
Easily fixed before full chassis assembly improves production efficiency and alignment accuracy.
How it works
The SAV Pivot mâle E5 is installed by drilling a shallow hole (5 mm) in the frame upright. The male pivot bearing is fitted prior to chassis assembly, allowing the sash—supported by the pivot—to rotate smoothly during operation while minimizing condensation at connection points thanks to its precise mounting depth.
