Description

Product

Special version panic lock with D function, reference 1013PZW E=60, for single-point mortise installation on emergency exit and fire-rated doors. Designed for use where evacuation requires pulling the door (reverse panic side) instead of the typical push action.

Specifications

  • Steel case with rounded 24 mm stainless steel forend
  • Panic function "D" ("lever-lever" PZ configuration), cylinder type
  • Special split spindle (9 mm), compatible with double 8 mm handle squares
  • Latchbolt and deadbolt in reinforced nickel-plated metal; deadbolt double-turn operation
  • Fire-resistant per DIN 18250, complies with EN179 (2008-4): 3/7/7/B/1/3/5/2/A/B for emergency exits and fire doors
  • Universal handing (left or right), strike plate not included
  • 60 mm backset; 72 mm center distance (PZ)

Usage

This lock is suitable for emergency exits where spatial or architectural constraints require pulling the door from the panic side. From the inside, the handle releases both latch and deadbolt, ensuring swift exit even if the deadbolt is engaged. From the outside, entry is permitted by handle if not locked, or by key if the deadbolt has been thrown. Use with the dedicated split spindle (FG 102908) and optionally with compatible exit bars (FG 111401–111421).

FAQ

  1. Which doors is this lock compatible with?
Compatible with emergency exit and fire doors, left or right handed, 60 mm backset, mortise installation.

  2. What makes this lock’s panic function unique?
The panic side is at the hinge side, requiring the door to be pulled to evacuate—an uncommon but necessary feature for certain exit configurations.

  3. Can the lock be used with anti-panic bars?
Yes, it is compatible with anti-panic bars (references FG 111401 to FG 111421).

  4. Is a special spindle required?
Yes, the lock requires a 9 mm split spindle, such as FG 102908 (2 x 53 mm), especially when standard handles use an 8 mm square.

  5. How does locking and unlocking from outside work?
The outside handle operates freely unless the deadbolt is engaged, in which case a key is required to unlock.
