Usage
The Assa Abloy 8000 series anti-panic bar in stainless steel and silver is designed for emergency exit doors equipped with a mortice lock. It is suitable for high-traffic public and commercial buildings where safe, quick evacuation is essential.
Advantages
- Certified to EN 1125 standards for panic exit devices, ensuring reliable emergency egress performance[1].
- Constructed with a brushed stainless steel push bar and composite housing for enhanced durability in demanding environments[1].
- The push bar length of 1000 mm can be shortened to fit various door widths, providing flexible installation options[1].
- Supplied complete with fixing screws and pins, simplifying setup on new or existing doors[1].
- External fitting options allow adaptation to site-specific security requirements (ordered separately)[1].
Specifications
- The device features a brushed stainless steel push bar integrated into a robust composite housing; other visible finishes include silver anodized components[1][2].
- Certified according to EN 1125 standards; compliant versions are compatible with effeff lock models (309X, 409X, etc.) used in fire or escape routes[1][6]. Mechanical durability rated for over 500,000 cycles on heavy doors per CISA’s additional certifications[8].
- The standard push bar measures up to 1000 mm long and can be cut down as needed. Bar projection does not exceed industry limits (typically ≤150 mm)[1][10]; installation hardware included.
- Differentiating features: non-handed design (suitable for left/right opening), field-cuttable length, compatibility with various mortice locks including blind/solid door applications. Optional outside access devices further expand functionality.[1][8]
How it works
By pressing the horizontal bar toward the door leaf in an emergency situation, the mechanism retracts the latch of the associated mortice lock—allowing rapid opening from inside without keys or special knowledge. External access can be managed by optional fittings if required.
