Usage
The Festool Domino DF 700 EQ-PLUS is designed for producing strong, precise mortise and tenon joints in large-scale woodworking projects such as doors, tables, beds, and solid wood frames. Ideal for workshop and on-site use.
Advantages
- Enables fast and repeatable mortise cutting for robust joinery on large workpieces
- Patented routing principle provides high precision and stability unique to portable machines
- Adjustable mortising depth (15–70 mm) and cutter height (10–50 mm) accommodate a variety of material thicknesses
- Quick-change system allows fast bit changes to suit different tenon sizes (8, 10, 12, or 14 mm diameter)
- Dust extraction port ensures clean working area and extends cutter lifespan; some users may find the tool’s weight (5.2 kg) notable during extended use
Specifications
- Design/Technologies: Spiral carbide-tipped cutter rotates and oscillates; aluminum housing with ergonomic handles; adjustable fence with positive stops at set angles (0°–90°)
- Sustainability/Standards: Robust construction suitable for professional environments; compliant with relevant safety standards; replaceable components extend product lifetime
- Performance: Power consumption: 720 W; spindle speed: up to 21,000 RPM; maximum milling depth: up to 70 mm in five increments; accommodates Domino tenons from Ø8–14 mm up to lengths of approx.140 mm (14 x 140 mm joint size); weight: about 5.2 kg (11.4 lbs)
- Differentiators: Portable design saves setup time versus stationary tools while enabling secure joints on large or immobile workpieces—no need to bring material to the machine
How it works
The DF 700 EQ-PLUS uses a rotating oscillating cutter head that creates uniform mortises when pressed onto the workpiece surface at a defined angle or height setting. The operator inserts floating Domino tenons into these slots for immediate strong wood-to-wood assembly.
