Usage
The Comaglio 472 automatic baseboard is designed to seal the gap beneath doors in residential or commercial environments, effectively limiting drafts, noise, dust, and smoke exchange between rooms.
Advantages
- Automatically lowers to create an optimal floor seal when the door closes
- Minimizes ingress of air, sound, light, smoke and insects for improved comfort and hygiene
- No manual adjustment needed after installation thanks to integrated mechanism
- Suits a range of door types in both private and public buildings
- Requires precise mortising during installation which may extend fitting time slightly for inexperienced installers
Specifications
- Anodized aluminum housing with high-resilience sealing insert for long-term reliability[1]
- Durable design suitable for frequent operation; complies with common fire/smoke containment standards[1][3]
- Covers a door width up to 930 mm; cross-section dimensions: height 12 mm × width 28.5 mm; sealing drop typically adjustable up to approximately half an inch (≈12 mm)[7]
- Semi-mortised fitting enables discreet integration beneath wooden or metal doors; robust internal spring mechanism ensures consistent gasket deployment[4][5]
How it works
When the door closes, a built-in plunger activates the internal spring mechanism. This action smoothly drops the gasket against the floor surface to form a continuous barrier. The seal retracts automatically as soon as the door opens again[5].
