Usage
Designed for fastening metal sheets, profiles, or components in automotive, construction, and general fabrication tasks. Suitable for use with rivet pliers on materials where a large head is required to distribute load and prevent pull-through.
Advantages
- Large flange (K12) provides increased bearing surface for improved load distribution.
- Aluminium body with steel mandrel offers a strong yet lightweight connection.
- Corrosion resistance due to aluminium alloy and zinc-plated steel.
- Quick installation using standard rivet pliers without need for rear access.
- Reliable mechanical performance in shear (approx. 1400 N) and tensile strength (approx. 2000 N).
Specifications
- The rivet body is made from aluminium alloy; the mandrel is galvanized steel for durability.
Large flange design ensures secure fastening over larger hole diameters or softer materials.
- Satisfies requirements according to DIN EN ISO standards when used as intended.
Offers corrosion protection matching typical industry expectations.
- Shaft diameter: Ø4 mm; shaft length: 10 mm; grip range: approx. 0.5–6.5 mm;
head diameter: approx. 12 mm;
suitable hole diameter: approx. Ø4.1 mm.
Shear strength of about 1400 N, tensile strength of about 2000 N based on manufacturer data.
- Differentiating feature: the K12 large-head geometry increases surface contact area compared to standard heads,
minimizing risk of material deformation under load.
How it works
This blind rivet is inserted into pre-drilled holes through the components to be joined.
A riveting tool pulls the mandrel, expanding the aluminium body behind the workpiece until it clamps securely;
the mandrel then breaks off at a predetermined point, producing a sturdy mechanical joint from one accessible side.
