Usage
This universal combined tap with 1/4" shank is designed for manual or power-assisted threading of through holes in steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics up to 600 N/mm² tensile strength. Ideal for maintenance, assembly, and small series production.
Advantages
- Compatible with cordless electric drills and hand tools with reversible rotation
- Suitable for multiple materials including steel and plastics
- Simplifies combined drilling and tapping operations in a single pass
- Hexagonal shank ensures secure fit in standard tool holders (1/4" bit holder)
- Limited to through holes up to the diameter of the thread; not suitable for blind holes deeper than nominal size
Specifications
- Design: Universal tap-combination tool with integrated hexagonal shank (1/4"); metric M3 thread size; manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS)
- Tensile Strength Capability: Suitable for materials up to 600 N/mm²; conforms to industrial standards for taps and dies tools
- Performance: Enables precise threading of holes up to the nominal diameter (max thread depth = thread diameter); recommended cutting speed varies by material type
- Differentiator: Combines drilling and tapping functions in one tool, reducing setup times during assembly or repair tasks; optimized flute geometry supports efficient chip removal in through-hole applications only
How it works
The tool is mounted into a compatible drill or hand driver. In a single operation, it drills and threads through-holes as it advances—saving time by combining both tasks. Always ensure alignment between tap axis and hole axis, using appropriate cutting lubricant.
