Usage
The Taraud universel combiné queue 1/4" M8 is designed for threading through holes in steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics up to 600 N/mm² tensile strength. Ideal for assembly work and small series production.
Advantages
- Compatible with cordless electric drills and hand drills with reverse function
- Suitable for tapping operations in various materials including metal and plastic
- Quick change thanks to a standardized hexagonal 1/4" shank
- Optimized for through-hole threads up to a maximum thread depth of one diameter (1 x D)
- Best results require precise alignment and use of cutting oil; not suitable for blind holes or hardened steels
Specifications
- Design: Combination tap with integrated drill point; hexagonal shank (1/4") for quick tool changes
- Material: High-grade tool steel engineered for durability under workshop conditions
- Total length: approximately 50 mm; diameter M8 thread profile; suitable for materials up to approx. 600 N/mm² strength
- Differentiating feature: Enables drilling, tapping, and deburring operations in a single step on compatible machines—avoiding time-consuming tool changes during assembly tasks.
How it works
The combined tap drills the pilot hole, cuts the internal thread as it advances, then reverses smoothly out after reaching the required depth—efficiently creating metric M8 threads in one process when used with compatible tools.
