Usage
This universal combined tap with 1/4" shank is designed for creating M5 threads in through-holes, ideal for maintenance, assembly tasks, and small production runs on steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics up to 600 N/mm² tensile strength.
Advantages
- Enables simple tapping operations with cordless or manual reversible drills
- Suitable for use on steel, non-ferrous metals, and engineering plastics (up to 600 N/mm²)
- Made from wear-resistant high-speed steel (HSS) for extended tool life
- Spiral tip design improves starting accuracy and chip evacuation in through-holes
- Tapping depth limited to a maximum of thread diameter; not suitable for deep blind holes
Specifications
- Design: Universal tap bit with straight flutes and a spiral tip; standard hex shank (1/4") ensures compatibility with quick-change drill chucks.
- Material: High-speed steel (HSS), treated for hardness and durability.
- Tapping Capacity: M5 thread size; suitable for materials up to a tensile strength of 600 N/mm²; recommended maximum thread depth: one times the nominal diameter.
- Differentiator: Designed specifically for efficient tapping of through-holes using both electric drills and hand tools equipped with reverse rotation.
How it works
Position the tool accurately in line with the hole axis. When driven by a reversible drill or hand tool, it both cuts threads into pre-drilled holes and ejects chips via its spiral tip. Use appropriate cutting oil to optimize results.
