Description

Usage

The GESIPA standard blind rivet with flat head and aluminium/steel composition is designed for permanently joining thin sheets or components where access is only possible from one side. Suitable for use in metalwork, automotive, and general assembly applications.

Advantages

  • Combines lightweight aluminium rivet body with durable steel mandrel for secure fastening
  • Flat head provides a large contact surface to distribute load evenly across materials
  • Enables fast, simple installation using compatible manual or battery-powered rivet pliers
  • No need to access the rear of the workpiece (blind setting), ideal for enclosed profiles and structures
  • Suits a wide range of material combinations; minor drawback: not suitable for extremely high-load structural joints compared to solid riveting solutions

Specifications

  • Design and Materials: Aluminium alloy blind rivet body with galvanized steel mandrel; flat (dome) head shape ensures broad load distribution[1].
  • Durability: Corrosion-resistant aluminium construction provides good lifespan in dry or indoor environments; complies with general industry standards.
  • Measurable Performance: Diameter: Ø5 mm; Length: 8 mm – recommended grip range typically from approx. 1–5 mm depending on application. Withstands common shear and tensile forces in light-to-medium-duty metal assemblies[1].
  • Differentiating Features: Offers rapid installation without threading, welding, or tapping; allows permanent yet non-intrusive fastening even when there is no access to the reverse side.

How it works

The rivet is inserted into a pre-drilled hole through the parts being joined. Using dedicated rivet pliers or tools, the mandrel is pulled until it breaks off inside the body, expanding the end of the rivet to securely clamp materials together—creating a reliable mechanical joint accessible from just one side[1][4].
