Usage
The GESIPA standard flat head blind rivet in aluminum/steel, diameter 4 mm and length 12 mm, is designed for securely joining sheet metal, plastics, or composites where access is only possible from one side. Commonly used in metal fabrication and repair work.
Advantages
- Allows rapid assembly from one side of the workpiece (“blind” installation)
- Flat head design provides an even holding surface to reduce material deformation
- Combines lightweight aluminum body with robust steel mandrel for reliable fastening
- Suitable for a wide range of materials and applications thanks to its universal dimensions
- No heat or threading required during installation; may require compatible riveting tool for optimal results
Specifications
- Design and Materials: Rivet body made from corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, mandrel in galvanized steel; flat (dome) head shape ensures broad contact area[1]
- Durability: Resistant to corrosion due to material selection, offering long-lasting joint integrity under normal environmental conditions[1]
- Measurable Performance: Diameter: 4 mm; Length: 12 mm; (Typical shear/tensile strength values depend on assembly but generally suitable for light- to medium-duty connections)[1]
- Differentiating Features: Tool-free after setting, broad compatibility with manual or battery-powered rivet pliers, suitable for both professionals and DIY users[4][10]
How it works
Insert the rivet into a pre-drilled hole so that its head rests on the accessible side. Using compatible rivet pliers, pull the steel mandrel until the aluminum body deforms and clamps both materials together. The excess mandrel breaks off automatically when set.
