Usage
The GESIPA standard flat head rivet (aluminium/steel, 3x6mm) is designed for fastening thin metal sheets or components where only one side of access is possible, using compatible rivet pliers in assembly, repair, or manufacturing contexts.
Advantages
- Provides reliable permanent joining of materials with limited rear-side access
- Combines a lightweight aluminium body for minimal added mass with a steel mandrel for strength
- Flat (dome) head design offers an even contact surface and minimizes material deformation
- Suits a wide range of general-purpose applications across metalworking and light construction industries
- Straightforward installation process reduces assembly time but requires appropriate riveting tools
Specifications
- The rivet body is manufactured from aluminium alloy; the mandrel is made of galvanized steel to optimize corrosion resistance and mechanical performance[1].
- Complies with general industry standards for blind rivets; dome (flat) head shape supports secure placement on base materials[1].
- Main dimensions: Diameter Ø3 mm x Length 6 mm. Suitable for typical sheet thicknesses corresponding to its size class.
- The blind (pop) riveting design ensures easy application when only one side of the workpiece can be accessed and provides durable joint integrity[1]. No need to pre-thread holes or tap threads before use.
How it works
This blind rivet is inserted into a pre-drilled hole; when activated by suitable pliers, the mandrel pulls through the body causing it to expand on the blind side, securely clamping components together. The mandrel then snaps off flush at completion.
