Usage
The GESIPA standard aluminium/steel flat head rivet Ø5x16mm is designed for securely joining two or more components where access is only possible from one side. Suitable for use in metalwork, construction, and assembly tasks with sheet materials.
Advantages
- Combines a lightweight aluminium body with a strong steel mandrel for optimal fastening strength.
- Flat (dome) head provides an even contact surface, reducing the risk of material deformation.
- Can join dissimilar or sensitive materials reliably and with long-term stability.
- Straightforward installation using standard rivet pliers, enabling fast and efficient workflow.
- The necessity for proper hole sizing may be seen as a limitation in certain applications.
Specifications
- Constructed from an aluminium alloy hollow rivet body and galvanized steel mandrel to balance corrosion resistance with mechanical durability.
- Dome (flat) head design; meets typical blind riveting process standards used in industrial assembly.
- Main dimensions: diameter Ø5 mm; total length: 16 mm. Typical grip range suitable for standard sheet thicknesses. Head diameter approximately matches hole requirements to ensure secure fitment.
- Differentiating features include fast installation capability and suitability for manual or battery-powered riveting tools working up to Ø5 mm size.
How it works
The rivet is inserted into a pre-drilled hole, then compressed using compatible rivet pliers; the mandrel pulls through the body to expand it on the blind side, securely fixing joined components while the excess mandrel snaps off cleanly.
