Usage
The GESIPA standard blind rivet with flat head, aluminium body and steel mandrel, Ø3x8mm, is designed for joining thin materials where only one side is accessible. Ideal for metalworking, repairs, and light construction applications.
Advantages
- Enables secure fastening even when access is possible from only one side of the workpiece.
- Combines lightweight aluminium body with strong steel mandrel for reliable joints.
- Flat (dome) head ensures low-profile finish and good contact surface.
- Suitable for a variety of materials including metals and composites.
- Straightforward installation using standard hand or power-driven rivet pliers; removal requires simple drilling if needed.
Specifications
- Materials: Rivet body made of aluminium alloy; mandrel made of galvanized steel.
Head type: Flat/dome
Diameter: 3 mm
Length: 8 mm
- Tensile Strength: Designed to meet industrial fastening requirements; specific values depend on material thickness and configuration[1].
- Chemical resistance: Aluminium offers basic corrosion resistance; galvanized steel mandrel provides additional durability[1].
- Differentiators: GESIPA blind rivets are known for high-quality manufacture ensuring consistent performance across batches[1]. Standardized sizing fits most generic rivet pliers in the Ø3mm range.
How it works
The blind rivet is placed in a pre-drilled hole through the parts to be joined. Using compatible riveting pliers, the tool pulls the steel mandrel through the aluminium body until it snaps off at a set point, expanding the body to securely clamp both materials together from one accessible side[1].
