Usage
Designed for joining materials in metal fabrication, construction, and repair work, these GESIPA standard blind rivets with flat head are suitable for use where only one side of the workpiece is accessible.
Advantages
- Allows reliable fastening of two or more components from one side (blind setting)
- Constructed with an aluminum body and steel mandrel for corrosion resistance and strength
- Flat head ensures a broad load-bearing surface to prevent pull-through on soft materials
- Consistent connection quality with minimal deformation of joined parts
- Straightforward to install with manual or automatic rivet pliers; may require proper sizing verification before use
Specifications
- Design: Standard blind rivet; flat/dome (tête plate) head shape; diameter Ø5mm; length 30mm; compatible with most riveting tools[1]
- Materials: Rivet body made from aluminum alloy for lightweight resistance to corrosion, mandrel made from galvanized steel for durability[1]
- Tensile/shear performance: Suitable tensile and shear strengths based on material combination (typical values: tensile strength ≥2350 N, shear strength ≥3280 N at comparable dimensions)[2][5]
- Differentiators: Flat head provides even seating over the material surface and is ideal for thin sheet or sensitive applications[1]
How it works
The rivet is inserted into a pre-drilled hole joining the target materials. A compatible riveting tool pulls the mandrel through the body, expanding it behind the workpiece to form a secure mechanical lock. The used mandrel snaps off automatically once set.
