Usage
The BB Locks A1 Basic 35 SA fail-safe electric lock is designed for securing high-risk access points in commercial, institutional, or industrial environments where automatic locking and access control integration are required.
Advantages
- Fail-safe operation: unlocks automatically when power is lost for safety compliance in evacuation scenarios.
- Automatic locking when the door closes, reducing risks of accidental security breaches.
- Robust construction with stainless steel baseplate and hardened duplex bolt enhances resistance against forced entry and vandalism.
- Compatible with a wide range of access control systems (keypad, card reader, timers) via simple Normally-Open contact interface.
- The adjustable ASP striker plate allows precise installation for optimal bolt engagement; regular maintenance may be required to ensure continued performance.
Specifications
- The lock body is made from AISI 304 stainless steel using the lost-wax process; hardened duplex bolts and deadlocks mounted on a solid baseplate provide structural integrity.[5]
- Circuit board encapsulated in polyurethane resin ensures durability against humidity and corrosion; compliant with European security standards.[1][5]
- Operates on a fail-safe principle (unlocked without power); requires stable supply: 24VDC (+/-5%), maximum current draw up to approximately 2.5A during activation.[5]
- Mortise design fits both europrofile (17 mm) and round cylinders (22 mm); includes an ASP striker plate adjustable ±2 mm for reliable closing action.[5]
How it works
The electromechanical BB Locks A1 Basic operates as a mortise lock integrated into the door frame. When powered, it secures by extending its deadbolt automatically upon door closure. It can be released through authorized electronic controls or will unlock during power failure as per fail-safe requirements.[5]
