Usage
The BB Locks A1 Basic 25 SA fail-safe electric lock is designed for securing outward-opening single exit doors in commercial and institutional environments that require controlled access and high security, such as banks, hospitals, or offices.
Advantages
- Automatic locking ensures the door is always secured when closed.
- Fail-safe function unlocks the door during power loss for emergency egress.
- Stainless steel construction increases durability and resistance to tampering.
- Compatible with various access control systems (push buttons, keypads, card readers).
- The adjustable striker plate offers precise installation alignment; may require periodic maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
Specifications
- Design & Materials: Mortise-type electromechanical lock with a solid stainless steel baseplate (AISI 304), stainless steel covers, and a hardened duplex deadbolt. ASP striker plate features an adjustable molded striker cup (+/-2 mm).
- Sustainability & Standards: Built according to European security standards; internal electronics protected against humidity by polyurethane resin encapsulation.
- Performance: Operates on fail-safe principle (unlocked without power). Powered by a custom solenoid at 24V DC ±5% / max. distance from PSU: ≤25 m. Automatic locking action controlled by integrated microprocessor with Hall sensor detection of striker plate position.
- Differentiating Features: Rapid solenoid-driven locking/unlocking; suits both Europrofile (17 mm) and round (22 mm) cylinders. Integrates easily into access control systems using impulse generators with normally open contacts.
How it works
The BB Locks A1 Basic 25 SA uses an electromechanical solenoid to rapidly extend or retract its deadbolt in response to authorized signals from connected access controls. The system automatically locks when the door closes and remains fail-safe—unlocking if electrical power is lost for emergency exit purposes.
