Usage
Silicone neutre AM85-1 transparent is designed for sealing connection joints, glazing joints, and expansion joints in building and construction, offering reliable performance on facades, interior walls, and between frames and walls.
Advantages
- Excellent adhesion to most common building materials without the need for primer
- Permanently elastic with high movement capability (up to 25%)
- UV-resistant and highly durable against weathering and ageing
- Very easy to apply thanks to its smooth paste consistency
- Low VOC content (<100 g/l), suitable for use in well-ventilated interiors or exteriors
Specifications
- Neutral oxime-curing silicone (RTV-1), based on polysiloxanes; available in transparent cartridges of 310 ml or 300 ml volume[3][6]
- Permanently elastic after curing; complies with ISO 11600 F&G – class 25 LM and DIN sealant standards[3][6]
- Cures at a rate of approx. 2.5–3 mm per day (at +23°C/50% RH); Shore A hardness: 22; elongation at break: 280%; density: 1.34 g/ml[3][6]
- Sustains temperatures from -50°C up to +150°C once cured; skin formation within approx. 25 min at standard conditions[3][6]
How it works
After application with a manual or pneumatic gun, the silicone cures by reacting with moisture in the air, forming an elastic seal that adheres firmly to most surfaces. Joints remain flexible over time while resisting UV rays, weather exposure, and mechanical movement.[3][6]
