Description

Product

Silicone neutre DL Chemicals AM85-1 manhattan clair is a one-component, neutral-curing silicone sealant formulated for professional sealing of chassis, concrete, and wood joints. Suitable for construction, glazing, and façade applications.

Specifications

  • Neutral oxime-curing silicone rubber (RTV-1), ready-to-use, cures at room temperature through air humidity
  • Forms a flexible, permanently elastic seal with high resistance to UV, weather aging, and temperature extremes (-50°C to 150°C)
  • Adheres without primer to most common construction materials: glass, aluminum, reinforced concrete, ABS, rigid polystyrene, brass, bronze, steel (including galvanized and stainless), tiles, treated wood; primer recommended for alkaline surfaces like bare concrete and brick
  • Compatible with laminated glass installation
  • Shore A hardness: 23; elongation at break: 300%; deformation capability: 25%; skin formation time: 15 minutes at 23°C and 50% RH
  • Shelf life: 15 months in original packaging stored between +5°C and +25°C

Usage

Apply AM85-1 with a caulking gun directly onto clean, dry surfaces. It is ideal for weatherproofing and flexible joints in window frames, façades, partition walls, and other structural or glazing connections. No primer is needed on most materials; use a primer for absorbent or alkaline substrates. Smooth the joint before skin formation for optimal finish.

FAQ

    • It adheres directly to glass, aluminum, concrete, various plastics, metals, ceramics, and treated wood.
  2. Is it suitable for use outdoors and exposed to weather?

    • Yes, it has high resistance to UV, aging, and weather conditions for both indoor and outdoor applications.
  3. Can I use it for expansion joints in concrete or masonry?

    • Yes, but a primer is recommended on bare concrete and brick for improved adhesion.
  4. At what temperatures can the cured sealant perform?

    • The sealant remains effective from -50°C up to +150°C.
  5. How long does it take to form a skin and cure?

    • It forms a skin in about 15 minutes at room temperature and typical humidity; full curing depends on joint thickness and conditions.
