Usage
Silicone neutre DL Chemicals AM85-1 gris ardoise RAL7015 is designed for sealing connection and expansion joints in construction, especially for frames, concrete, and wood. Its neutral cure makes it suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Advantages
- Excellent adhesion to most building materials without the need for a primer
- Permanently elastic with high recovery rate (>80%)
- Resistant to UV, weathering, and ageing (-50°C to +150°C)
- Low emission (VOC <100 g/l), MEKO-free; safe for indoor environments
- Cannot be overpainted; not suitable for sanitary or permanently wet areas
Specifications
- Chemistry: One-component neutral oxime-cure silicone (polysiloxanes)
- Dirt-repellent slate grey finish (RAL7015); conforms to EN 15651 standards (CE/UKCA certified); French VOC class A+
- Shrinkage: minimal; density: approx. 1.21 g/ml; shore A hardness: ~23; elasticity recovery >80%; movement capability up to ±25%
- Tack-free in approx. 15 minutes at room temperature/humidity; cures at about 2.5–3 mm/24h (23°C/50% RH); shelf life of unopened cartridge is up to fifteen months in cool dry storage (+5°C to +25°C).
How it works
Apply the AM85-1 silicone directly from the cartridge into clean, dry joints using a standard caulking gun. The sealant cures on exposure to atmospheric humidity, forming an elastic joint that absorbs movement while maintaining a durable seal against air and water infiltration.
