Usage
The Abloy EL460 solenoid mortise lock is designed for secure access control on interior or exterior doors in commercial, public, or institutional environments. Suitable for medium-traffic areas requiring controlled entry from one side.
Advantages
- Electrically controlled handle enables integration with access control systems for managed entry.
- Automatic deadbolting and two-point locking enhance door security after each closure.
- Non-handed design simplifies installation on left or right-opening doors.
- Mechanical override provides emergency opening via key cylinder if needed.
- Certified for fire, emergency exit, and burglary resistance (EN14846, EN179, EN1125).
Specifications
- Design: Mortise lock case with split spindle; stainless steel front plate; Europrofile DIN cylinder compatibility; narrow profile (distance: 92 mm).
- Durability & Certifications: Meets EN14846 (electric locks), EN179 (emergency exit), EN1125 (panic exit), and fire-resistance standards. Operates reliably between -20°C to +60°C.
- Performance: Operating voltage: 12–24 V DC. Idle current: 130 mA @12VDC /65 mA @24VDC. Maximum current: up to 400 mA. Deadbolt throw: 20 mm. Backset options include standard sizes of up to 40 mm.
- Differentiating Features: Selectable fail-safe/fail-secure operation modes; automatic locking upon door closure; comprehensive monitoring outputs—status of bolt, handle use, cylinder activity, and door position.
How it works
When the authorized access control system activates the outside handle electrically, users can operate the handle to retract the deadbolt and open the door. The inside handle provides mechanical egress at all times for safety compliance. The lock re-engages automatically when the door closes.
