Usage
The Abloy EL520 motorized mortise lock is designed for secure access control on high-traffic wooden or metal doors in public buildings, business premises, hospitals, and educational facilities.
Advantages
- Motorized bolt action enables seamless integration with door automation systems.
- Non-handed design allows installation on both left and right doors without adjustment.
- Certified for fire, emergency exit, and panic exit doors (EN14846, EN179, EN1125).
- Advanced monitoring outputs provide real-time status of door position and locking state.
- A mechanical cylinder override permits manual unlocking if power fails.
Specifications
- Design: Mortise lockcase with Europrofile; single-point locking; suitable for wooden and metal doors; double-action latch; robust steel construction.
- Durability / Certifications: Fire resistance (EN1634-1), electric locking (EN14846), exit device (EN179), panic device (EN1125); tested to -20°C to +60°C operating range[1][3][9].
- Performance: Deadbolt throw: 20 mm; backset: typically available in multiple sizes including standard at 65 mm; centres: typically at DIN standard of 72 mm. Operating voltage: DC12–24V ±15%; current consumption at idle/normal/max: DC12V—80mA/450mA/1300mA or DC24V—40mA/220mA/600mA[1][7][9]. Dimensions: approx. height 168.5 mm × width 16.5 mm × depth 98 mm[5][9]. Relay capacity up to max. 0.8 A @30 V AC/DC resistive load /20 W[1]. Net weight ~1.15 kg[5].
- Differentiating Features: Day/night mode switching; anti-tampering function retracts deadbolt if activated when the door is open; multiple monitoring contacts: door status, handle down, bolt deadlocked/in/out, cylinder operation detection.[1][9]
How it works
The EL520 operates via electric control or access system input that withdraws the motor-driven deadbolt and releases the latch for authorized entry. The inside handle always allows free egress mechanically in emergencies or power loss while automatically relocking when the door closes.[1][3]
