The Abloy EL561 modular solenoid lock offers electrically controlled access on both sides of the door, suitable for wood and metal doors in high-security commercial and institutional environments. Designed for integration with access control systems, it supports both interior and exterior applications.

- Design & Materials: Mortise-type lock with closed case in zinc-plated steel (~2 mm thick), reinforced chromed satin faceplate (20 or 24 x 235 mm), and chromed steel strike plate. Features double-action and antifriction latch, nickel-plated steel bolts, and a hardened steel follower.
- Compatibility & Dimensions: For European profile cylinder, 55 mm backset (optionally 60/65/80/100 mm), 72 mm centre distance, 9 mm spindle (with 8 mm adapter), automatic deadbolt projection (20 mm deadbolt, 10 mm latch).
- Security & Durability: EN 12209 (security class 6) and SKG** certified, fire-rated for BENOR ATG RF 30’/60’, meets CE requirements, lateral resistance up to 10KN, operational temperature range -20°C to +60°C.
- Technology: Electrically controlled handles (fail secure/fail safe selectable), works with 12–24 VDC (-10%/+15%), current draw 550 mA at 12V / 270 mA at 24V.
- Features: 4 monitoring outputs (deadbolt status, handle use, cylinder use, door status), automatic deadbolt locking on closure, reversible handing (left/right) by Allen screw, not approved for escape routes.
Usage
Install the EL561 in wood or metal doors requiring controlled access on both sides. Connect directly to a 12–24 VDC supply and configure for fail safe or fail secure operation. Integrate with badge readers, keypads, or timers as desired. Electrical signals activate/deactivate the handles, allowing entry or exit as set. Manual override via mechanical cylinder always remains possible.

No, the EL561 does not offer an always-free exit function and is not suitable for escape routes or panic exits. -

Yes, the EL561 can be configured for left or right-handed doors using an Allen screw. -

Both inside and outside handles are electrically controlled via your chosen access system, while a mechanical key override is always available. -
